Re: What is "yehman" in english?

This is a great concept that explains so much.

There is a troll on this website who used to attack writers from under the cover of his bridge with the claim that they are "bounded by Western grammar."

Because he attacked at least two writers, a Ph.D. candidate from Europe and someone who claims to be a university professor from the US, with the same exact template thinking, he is clearly a 野蠻人.

Isn't he the one who said there is no such thing as a generalization? He is clearly a 野蠻人.

But on the other hand, avoiding being a 野蠻人 seems a model for proper, Confucian behavior, and thus one can take logic and reason too far (as is well known).

And here is the problem that E. Asians/Asian Americans face.

They seem to think that using logic or reason to make their point has the highest form of expression in high ACT/SAT scores.

And taking logic and reason too far -- does it lead to a meek passivity, a fear of individual assertion, an excessive concern of what the group will think, an anxiety that their logic and reason is incorrect?

In other words, avoiding being a 野蠻人 leads straight to what Harvard means by lacking courage, etc.

Using logic or reason to make one's point is necessary, but passion is equally necessary -- creativity, innovation, these come from a passionate drive of individuality. This is what has led to the world as being a thoroughly Western world in terms of scientific invention as well as the social sciences and philosophy and much of the humanities.

The problem of avoiding being a 野蠻人 as fearing to fail to use proper logic and reason explains, in a surprising way, exactly why Harvard et al. limits E. Asian/E. Asian American applicants.

Now I see clearly the issue: with the sole proper use of logic and reason, how many correct answers are there?

Basically one.

For the passionate, creative innovator, how many correct answers are there?

Infinite.

So academically, there is no innovation when you live in fear of being a 野蠻人.

And romance, crazy, intense passionate drives, this is not what a one does when they fear at all costs being a 野蠻人.

So E. Asians/Asian Americans -- having the fear of being a 野蠻人 as a model inhibits their passionate drives.

And so Western women, who love passionate romance, generally do not date E. Asians/Asian Americans, but Western men, those passionate innovators -- they are sweeping up more and more E. Asians/Asian American women....

When you avoid being a 野蠻人 do you know or care about satisfying sexual passion beyond the duty of raising children and discharging your own discomfort? When you avoid being a 野蠻人 do you make love for hours and hours on end? When you avoid being a 野蠻人 do you know or care about the female clitoris? How many E. Asian women never experience orgasm brought about by their male partners seeking to avoid being a 野蠻人?

The word you are looking for is 野蠻

>savage; uncivilised

Civilised people are supposed to argue with logic and reason

If someone doesn't use logic or reason to make his point, we can call him a 野蠻人 (savage) and his behavior 野蠻 (uncivilised)
