Re: Macdull video - '失敗 is the mother of success' question

The mother at first kept saying 'in ding' and it kind of sounded like 'in1 ding6'.

I listened several times to the mother’s speech and have concluded that it sounded correctly as ‘gin1 ding6’.

So my question is it very common for this phrase to be shortened to 'in1 ding6'? In casual talk can you drop the g-sounds sometimes and it's acceptable?

I’ve never heard of ‘gin1 ding6’ being shortened to ‘in1 ding6’ by any speaker. And it’s not acceptable to drop the /g/ initial for the term ‘gin1 ding6’.
