玩命= playing/ gambling with ones own life
1. treat life and dead situation like a game / risking life unnecessarily
2. risking ones own life like it is just a gambling chip / taking serious risk of dying
他一直在玩命- he has been playing with his life (the English expression would be : " flirting with death")
