My E-C dictionary has “journeyman” translated as 熟練工.
If the term 熟練工 meant 熟練工人, then it should be translated as " experienced worker "
If it meant 熟練工匠，then there must be 生手工匠，which would be an oxymoron, because 匠 by definition is a skilled craftsman.
I think "journeymen" can be translated 初級工匠；"master craftsmen " should be 高級工匠；while the term 工匠 itself should be translated as "craftsmen" regardless of rank difference.
