In Taiwan, it is often called 狹谷效應 or, more accurately, 狹管效應 (Channeling Effect). In Hong Kong, it is often called 風洞效應 (Wind Tunnel Effect). In engineering, it is often called Tunnel Effect of the Wind or Wind Channeling Effect. They are all variations on the same theme and are all legitimate in their own rights.
