Hey, I was thinking about explaining chances and how to phrase certain ideas.
At my level I'm very limited at saying 應該,or 可能 / 無可能。If I have to say 'probably not' I'd just say 我諗係唔會 (I think it won't happen).
But I want to be more accurate when discussing sports or predicting outcomes. Just going out of Cantodict I see 概率 which I don't hear.
Can I say 哥概率 /低概率? Can anyone write an example phrase?
Also now with my wife I say 五十五十 for fifty-fifty chances, which is straight out of English 50/50. I'm pretty sure this is wrong. Maybe I heard somewhere I can say 五波五波 (or something like that?). Maybe I can even say 平等概率?
Note: I also see 機率 which might be used (but again I don't hear it).
Thank you in advance,
Matt
1. We don't often say 高概率 or 低概率. We usually say [XX 率 高] or [高 XX率] as in "入球率高" and "高入球率"
2. "fifty-fifty chances" is "機會大概一半一半" (chances is about half and half)
3. It is 五五波 (evenly match) not 五波五波
