Re: 合什

Quote
Tang
合什 (v) [hap6 sap6] : bring one's two palms together ( for greeting, pleading or most commonly, praying)

I can't find 合什 in CantoDic,
I can't find the official translation on the web,

I can only guess:

" touch palms"
" bring palms together"
" make a praying gesture"

I really want to know what is the official translation in Dictionaries.

The following entry is from "A Dictionary of Chinese Buddhist Terms" by William Edward Soothill and Lewis Hodous
at [mahajana.net]

合十 合爪; 合掌 To bring the ten fingers or two palms together; a monk's salutation.
