Please someone help translate?

路好走一
仗有排打
交俾我地
自由公正的國度裡再見

路好走: It literally means a smooth way to walk, but is a metaphor for "an easy way to do things". There's a song with lyrics of 朋友多了路好走 "with more friends, things goes smoother", see: 路好走 and discussion in Baidu: Baidu discussion In Cantonese, I heard 路好行 used, whereas 路好走 is the SWC version.

仗有排打: 有排 in Cantonese means "takes a while", per Cantodict, and the complete expression means "the battle has a while to fight", or the "battle will go on for a while".

This word is slightly from 拗 (with a stroke)

I searched cantodict, it didn't have this word. I've tried google translate and it gave same pronunciation (but in mandarin, but I want Cantonese) and same meaning, which I doubt, because 幻 (wan) and 幼 (you) look similar but sound and mean completely different.

thanks

tattoo fails

My chat bobby asks about "tattoo fails". He is a creator of the game. But I am not good in Mandarin.

My chat bobby wrote: "We're thinking of making the agent's tattoo choice into an actual scene in a tattoo parlour. One of the choices the agent can have is a mandarin symbol of her chineze zodiac animal.

We thought it would be funny if – for agents who don't know any Mandarin – there is a random % chance of the tattooist putting something else on her (like IDIOT or BITCH or SLUT or something)."

蟹皇, 韭皇, 海皇

Hello. I came across the names of a few dishes on a menu. The full names are as follows: 红烧蟹皇金勾翅, 红烧海皇大生翅, 韭皇鲜虾肠粉, 鲍汁苗皇玉鲍甫, and 黑松露香煎带子皇.

I know what "皇" means individually, it means emperor. But when it's combined with 蟹, 韭, 海, 甫 and 带子, then I do not know what they mean. Could someone tell me what 蟹皇, 韭皇, 海皇, 苗皇, 带子皇 mean?

And while we are on this topic, could someone also tell me the difference between 金勾翅 and 大生翅. The only thing I know is that they are both a sub-type of shark fin's soup. But I wish to find out the exact difference between them, especially when it comes to looks.

Thanks.

明虾球, 龙凤球, and 百花球

Hello. I came across the names of a few dishes on a menu. The full names are as follows: 银丝橙香明虾球, 翡翠龙凤球, and 多子燕液百花球.

I know that 明虾球 and 百花球, refer to balls made of shrimp (feel free to correct me if wrong). And 龙凤球 is made of a mixture of shrimp and chicken. So these three items have a commonality. Anyway I was hoping someone could teach me how to tell them apart simply by looking. I know they probably taste different but I only want to be able to tell them apart by eyeballing them.

And while we are on this topic, I also hope to find out what 多子燕液 means. Does it mean the saliva of swallows?

Thanks.

P.s. This forum is a truly valuable resource for someone like me.

My niece named her newborn daughter 采蒑 (Choi Yun).

采 means spirit; complexion; color. However, CantoDict doesn't recognize the character of 蒑.

Can one of the editors add this character to the dictionary so that I will know what the character means?

Thank you so much!

I'm not an editor. Found it in a Chinese dictionary with the Chinese definition. jan1 pronounced: "jan1" in Cantonese. The Chinese definition listed are: (1)菜名 (vegetable name) (2) 形容草色青青 (the green color of grass)

Hope this helps.

Yes, that was very helpful. Thank you. :notworthy:

Based on subsequent emails between the family members, I was told that it means the color of grass.
